When your baby changes overnight, existing tracker apps show you a chart and shrug. Leap Journey reads the pattern in your logs — sleep, feeding, mood, clinginess, movement, language and milestones — and surfaces a calm, evidence-cued insight about which developmental phase your baby may be in, plus one useful activity to try next.
The work was less about adding features and more about deciding what the user needed to see, understand and do first.
Parents wanted reassurance and a next step, not another raw tracking dashboard that implied something was wrong.

The daily check-in is designed for a parent nursing a baby on the other side. Big taps, generous spacing, minimum keystrokes. You can log a full day in under thirty seconds; the app does the pattern-matching.
Every insight card shows how sure the pattern-match is and what the underlying evidence-cue is. Leap Journey is educational, not diagnostic — signalling uncertainty honestly is what earns parent trust in a health-adjacent app.
Baby data is intimate. Leap Journey writes to local storage first; cloud sync is opt-in for the partner-share feature. Nothing about a specific baby's schedule ever needs to touch a server if the parent doesn't want it to.

Every insight card carries a confidence tag and the studies it's drawn from. In a category dominated by "your baby is behind" panic-copy, honest uncertainty is what earns parent trust — so we surface it above the fold.
Under the phase, a single activity with a duration estimate. Leap Journey resists the dashboard-of-charts pattern; it tells parents what to actually do this afternoon. One card, phase-matched, time-bounded.
The whole point of the app. An Approaching-Soon card previews the next phase with the exact behaviours to watch for, so a parent can spot the shift as it starts — not two weeks after it did.
Journey lays out completed, current and upcoming phases as a single vertical timeline. Memories anchor to the phase they happened in, so re-reading it feels like flipping through a keepsake, not scrolling an activity feed.
Expanded phases include the senses recruited in that window — never a percentile, never a red flag. Leap Journey is a learning surface for the parent, not a screening tool. Copy is written accordingly.
